Description :

Identification of the types of geologic hazards that may occur in the Kingdom and the creation of a database specifying the categories, locations, geological and geotechnical characteristics, the assessments of their impacts and the alleviation of their effects.

The tasks include the:

  • monitoring of geologic hazards
  • study of hazards associated with subsidence, landslides, sinkholes, and fissures
  • study of the hazards related to evaporite rocks, such as salt domes, anhydrites and gypsum
  • setting up of appropriate scientific and engineering recommendations and solutions to mitigate the effects of hazards through the publication and dissemination of technical reports and maps in addition to the task of responding to the state’s demands to address and find solutions to alleviate the consequences of these hazards

  • Draw up of appropriate scientific and engineering recommendations and solutions to mitigate hazards in addition to responses to state’s requests on the consequences of these hazards
